Is the iPhone worth all that money?

I have to openly ask this. I’m a very broke geek with not much money and yet quite a few people were able to spend $499+ on iPhones. Is it really worth it? I own a Windows Mobile phone that does pretty much what the iPhone can do. Sure the UI isn’t "all that" but do I want to pay $499 just for UI?

That being said - folks have asked me if I would be willing to move away from Windows Mobile if given the chance to use a iPhone… my answer is yes absolutely. I love UI stuff and slick looking devices.

I just can’t see myself dishing out the cash to buy an iPhone when I’m tryin to pay off my debt (like paying off school to go back, etc).

Chris Pirillo remained skeptical on the iPhone until he was "iPwnd" by Ponzi - she bought him one.

And no I don’t think I am asking these questions simply because I don’t own a iPhone.

According to an iPhone user that sent his handset in for warranty service, it arrived back with this highly technical piece of equipment, with a piece of paper that included a visual instruction. If this is actually true then I have to throw out a serious WTF IGod. […]
